Job security, Tom! Especially considering how much stock YOU have! Drool... drool.... drool...
Yeah, there are a number of my 89' flats that I should probably adapt for my period of modeling - even many of the Trailer Train cars I have are newer styles than 1976ish, but I bought them in bunches about 15 years ago. For example, I have 3 or 4 Crab Orchard and Egyptian RR flats, which didn't see work in their operation until 1978 at the earliest. The odds of seeing them in D&H service are probably pretty remote, and they are painted red. I've thought about patching them out and making them Maine Central cars (also red), but I'm having trouble finding decals. Some of my TT flats have build dates later than 78, so I might try to find early TT decals and redo those - many of which should probably be primer red with the old TT logos. Stuff to ponder, but it is interesting work exploring history.
