I think a lot of people would be surprised to find out how many elevators are located in urban areas. Look out from on top of a bridge in Los Angeles and you will see grain elevators everywhere! You won't find sidings with two or three elevator complexes on them like you would in Canada's or Kansas' prairies, but large commercial bakeries, breweries, and perhaps other industries that I haven't thought of receive loads of flour, various grains, or powdered & granulated sugar in bulk that they store in silos.
