The flux ore used by GERN would normally be shipped in hoppers, but, depending on the era, locale, and size of the operation, it could also move in covered hoppers, boxcars, gondolas, or, if mined hydraulically, in tank cars. Many mines, like the one at Gibson Works, in Port Maitland, Ontario, are connected directly to the refining and milling end of the operation. The mine itself is not modelled, of course, as it's out-of-sight under nearby Lake Erie.
