SSWUP ISL - Build
Thank you Len, just trying....got a long ways to go and want a very real feel so now comes the tough parts...

Reinhard , sorry for the late reply...
I used a 50:50 water and white glue mixed with about 10% alcohol added... I paint the surface with a small 25mm brush and with it being so thin it self-levels straight away. Immediately after applying the glue mix I use a tea strainer and sieve on the ground material (which is all natural) in light coats that soak up the wet glue. I continue to sieve till there is no "wet soil left. I then leave this to dry overnight...

I did some tests and eventually decided that I would not re-wet the soil as it made it far too dark for my liking and I lost that natural matt finish... If you let it dry for a day or 2 before lightly dusting off the excess with a dry paint brush I found that it is so solid that one does not need to "fix" it from above, the thick (1mm) layer of white glue dilute holds just fine... Just remember to make it's viscosity enough so that it levels itself and you will have great results... and the little alcohol makes it hold really well to all the particles...

Funny giving you tips...lol...I'm normally scouring you thread for ideas... 219
