Freelance 2012
Larry - I haven't had a chance to do much with this one - it is a fairly newbie - but so far it seems to do a gtood job. I also have a Fuji S5500 - I think called the S5100 in USA - which is my "professional" camera, and still have my original compact, a Nikon 3200 Coolpix picked up refurbished and that is getting a bit long in the tooth but still takes good photos. The photo of the new one above was taken with the Nikon.
I'd suggest two things - #1, and most important "GO FOR THE GLASS" -poor quality lenses will never take decent pictures - read the online reviews - especially if they have example pictures, and #2, go down to the local camera shop and hold a few - even if you don't intend to buy from them - see how the camera and the control fit your hand - everybody is different and if it isn't comfortable you will regret buying it. This Fujifilm F600EXR was actually bought through QVC Shopping Channel here in UK after watching its capabilities demod on there and reading on-line reviews - very happy so far and no complaints - note the black version has a rubberised grip and is less slippy than the other coloured versions - white and pink I think! Oh it also does HD video and will take up to 64Gb cards
Whatever you get, I hope it exceeds your expectations
Jack

PS Reinhard - there is a second version of the tripod which has slightly longer legs, an on-line search will find it. I wanted the short legs so that was the one I bought
