Mike, Stein, thanks. The concrete is already under construction (all my harddisk are on the layout :-). Why asphalt over concrete? Would they do concrete and than asphalt immediately at the first construction time or do the asphalt patches later when the concrete become more and more damaged?

I have a problem with the "street running". I do usually lack the precision to get it look really good. My idea / bypass is to run the concrete up to the ties and fill the gap to the rail with fine gravel (sand). Between the rails will be a strip of concrete again.
