The road got a temporary solid black coat to equalize the shades of color on the plaster and the blue foam

After that the final gray road paint has been applied and the road has been opened to the public. Street marks, weathering etc. will be applied later. Currently is the front rim under construction.

I had no luck to find any kid of "pencil" to draw yellow markers on dark road surface. I did also check virtual hundreds of pens in the US during our trip last year. White is never a problem. the white ink stays like printed on top of any surface but yellow fades away within seconds. The August issue of the Model Railroader rep ors on page 17 about "highway stripes" made by Summit Customcuts (http://www.summit-customcuts.com/roadmarkings1.html). I placed an order and will try to get some nice yellow markers on my gray roads.
