But I am thinking if I should continue the new road until the right end of the layout. The area with the bushes is not well suited for industry building due to it's limited size between the tracks. The area is also split by the border of the removable part in front of the balcony door. A street would cover a lot of that "dead space" and provide a good anchor for other industries.
An other consideration are sidewalks. For sure not in the foreground between yard and road (Hampton St. and Downey Rd. have both none at the yard side) but the other side of the road is a good candidate. The area in and around Vernon is very well equipped with them.
ps. Did you see a new KFC restaurant in that area? I would be glad to have prototypical correct KFC
