I like the old Geeps, but my favourite was the U-25-b, not for looks, but when they got some age on the mufflers, their sound was only surpassed by steam.
My first trip to the Horseshoe Curve was made more memorable by a heavy ore train climbing the grade with 4 U-25s on the head end and 4 pushing. I never saw that combination after that. Somewhere I have a tape recording of that if it hasn't been lost in one of the moves.
The P&LE U28Bs sounded pretty good too, but there wasn't much of a grade in our area on the P&LE.
