New books-
The Hard Coal Carriers- Volume 1 First Generation Geeps
This book covers the GP7s, GP9s, and GP18s of the "Anthracite roads", specifically CNJ, DL&W, Erie, EL, The Reading Company, and Lehigh Valley. Most of these ended up on Conrail (A few shots are even in the early Conrail years, though it seems that the author avoided putting any patched or blue units in the book anywhere.)
New Railroad documents
Amtrak Operating Rules and Instructions 1979
This is a good one, since it apparently had EVERYTHING in it, not just the operating rules, but the Electrical Operating Instructions, Air Brake instructions, Interlocking instructions, just about any of the other documents I had to pick up individually for Conrail. In the case of the Electrical Operating Instructions (AMT-2), They give the "limits" on the MU car trains, something I had always wanted to know on the NEC.
General Orders 101-107 and others for Amtrak Timetable #1 4/29/79-
As it turns out, my Timetable #1 belongs to "C.P. Wahmann", the Assistant Vice President of Operations at Amtrak at the time. In fact, my copy doesn't even have hole punches!
Since it is in it's original state, these timetables will allow me to track the changes through out the summer and fall of 1979 on the NEC. This includes the addition of new "HEP" capable cars, and other pieces of data difficult to find through photographic research. Seeing the schedules change is also interesting.
Amtrak ETT #2 1978-
I figures I had ETT #1 updated to right before the ETT #2 came out, and since one was there for a couple bucks, I picked it up. It even came with some separate general orders, though not enough to bridge to my ETT#3.
Still, this does give me an Amtrak Northeast Corridor timetable for every year of the early conrail time period I model.
Conrail stuff-
Conrail Safety Rules-1978
Conrail CT400 Operating Instructions- 1976
