I also dislike the pizza cutter flanges on my old Dreyfuss hudson...especially when it bounces through code 83 turnouts...but I sure love that locomotive...good memories. Eventually she'll get repowered. Detail-wise, I still think they are acceptably detailed when sitting along side brass and new die-cast...not bad for 30+yr old tooling.

Are any of those locomotives ones that you've customized? I think recall a piece on you fixing up that big boy on either your website or somewhere...is that correct?

I'd love a drop in replacement for the drivers as well, you'd think that with over 100,000 plus Big Boys sold over the years, NWSL might have met that need. As for customizing, I did rebuild the Cab-forward, adding 3 ounces of weight and balancing the weight over the drivers. It went fro 5 cars to 25+ on a 1.75% grade. My Big Boy was the subject of a weathering with acrylics forum, I also added DCC to both of them in online threads.
