"Free" trees at MRC

As a HEADS UP for all of us penny-pniching pensioners (and you cost-conscious younger guys too) there is a way to get the JTT trees without letting ALL the moths out of your wallet! I think at $14.95 for 4 or 6 kits for 6" and 8" armatures is not all that bad a price for a few "front line" trees. According to the copy describing the kits, the branches of the taller ones can cut off to form up to "50 smaller 1" to 4" trees, or bushes.

The landscaping materials listed on another page look pretty good and the pricing seems reasonable. At 1/8th" scale the Human Figures are useable as HO scale (3.5 mm = 0.135", 1/8 = 0.125" ... pretty close!) If you are not interested in "night running" and require street lamps that actually light up, their "Street Furniture"section may be of help to you (again, HO and 1/8 scale = close enuff.) The automobiles, on the other hand, although totally acceptable to architects (to whom this site is essentially aimed) ahhhh, I don't know if model railroaders will be buying them in bulk packages any time soon!!! hock: And you might want to check out the "styrene pattern sheets" (architects often call things by funny names ... I put myself through design school as a draftsman in a architects' office where we often built site models) as possible scratch-building material.

All in all, It looks to be a good source for scenic and scratch-building supplies! Great find with the MRC site, Steve! I just then Googled "JTT.
