"...at $4 a pound, crawfish are a "hot load" with minimal switching...made all the more complicated by incompatible couplers and the limited motive power remaining to be swapped over..."

We had that coupler discussion, as the car was being built, and decided to go with the truck mounted Rapido couplers, with the thought that trucks with couplers, could be swapped out far more easily, than body mount couplers. All of my N scale rolling stock, has body mount couplers. I have a pair of trucks with Micro Trains couplers, to make the swap ( if needed ) when the car is sent out to the winning bidder, after the tour is done.

Enjoyed seeing the car's journey on the "Basic and Mostly Credible Railroad". Thumbsup Thumbsup
I would hope that, in reality, at $4/lb.,those Crawfish were an Iced cold load. :o Big Grin
We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve.
Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!
