In the first post I mentioned the "arc" welder. This was made by attaching about 3/8 of an inch diameter worn down cutoff disk to a pager motor , mounting a brass tube above it with a cig. lighter flint in it --A bit of blue cellaphane to give it a blue "arc flame" & with the welding spatter of the sparks it was pretty effective. we planned to put a truck with a portable welder on in the scene & add the sound of the welder truck , but Frank Passed on before that was done.
