One of those springs, makes connection to the motor body. Insulate that one and the brushes will both be insulated, and then, can be directly connected to the decoder.
I would recommend testing the current draw of the motor, to be sure it does not exceed the rating of the decoder . Your local Hobby Shop should be able to help you there.
