Thanks, Tom, but according the the Woodland Scenics people no mold release agent was either necessary or desirable on small, flat objects like that - only on things like real rocks with all the crevices and cracks. Additionally, there is the problem of cleaning a mold release agent off of a casting to allow painting it.

My wife took pity on me and bought me a complete casting kit at considerably more expense which uses several different compounds including RTV latex, "cold-forming plastic" and resin.

I'll get it figured out one of these days, but my LHS guy got an earful, since he claims to have extensive experience with the WS stuff, and I have advised the WS people to update and expand their instructions to encompass types of material which can be casted and any other stuff they left out.

I doubt they will do it, but I feel better already! Smile
