Assuming you see that as a drawback and not a frill. I think it's overrated. If you can draw and test-run a track plan, with grades and separations, generate grade profiles and add structures and scenery elements, being able to look at it from the side is just a gimmick. Tongue

As I said in the other thread, XtrkCad is the best because of the bang for the buck. You can't beat free, and it's head and shoulders above Atlas's RTS. Admittedly, if all you want to do is build a layout with Atlas Snap Track, then RTS is just fine. But if you're trying to design anything over 4x8 with more than snap switches and sectional track, you suddenly discover its' limitations.
