Even better, if there is a historical society or a Yahoo group for the railroad that your question is about, you might get answers there.

Be careful there too..A lot of BS was put forth by railroaders just to satisfy what the person wanted to hear or just give a quick answer and by a alleged "authority" on (say) the Hooten Hollow & Western that its hard to get the facts-even well meaning answers may come from a book written by a supposed rail historian that didn't do any real research..

We have that problem here in Bucyrus by a authority/expert on the local rail scene.Very basic research has found this man lacking knowledge..
