Well this is just a short video on how I made my hanging lamps for the Berkshire build .

The lights are finally going in, and this part of the project gets a little tricky. I show how I mounted the small LED lights underneath the structural posts, created grooves to hide and route the wires, and used a girder as a simple jig to keep all the lights hanging at the same height.

Once the lights are installed, it’s time to tackle the wiring. I solder the LED leads together and use a 2K ohm resistor to control the lighting before connecting everything to a DC power pack. And, of course, things don't always go according to plan! After initially getting no lights at all, I had to troubleshoot the wiring and track down the problem before finally getting all six LEDs working.

Then we turn the room lights off to see how the building looks illuminated. The result is a really nice effect that should look especially good if the layout is ever operated at night.

This is another behind-the-scenes HO scale model railroad building project, showing the good, the bad, and the ugly of adding realistic lighting to a scratchbuilt and kitbashed structure.
