Just off the erecting floor at London's GMD plant, brand new GMD1 #1040,class GR-12T is spotted at Leetown. All new diesel locomotives built at the London plant spend the first few weeks of their break-in service at this location and many of their first revenue runs are to the EG@E inter-change at Port Maitland on the shores of Lake Erie---needless to say,the local rail-fans are out in droves whenever one of the new diesels is in the area.

I wish it would better fit my layout but that older green/gold CN paint scheme is the most beautiful for me.

PC 4063 is a re-detailed and repainted P2K E8.
I used steel wire to replace the plastic grab irons.

Nice job on that, Ray.

Speaking of E8s, I didn't see 4063, but I DID see an engine painted to match 4083! Here she is in a brief, experimental New York Central system paint scheme!
Also, I borrowed JGL Fan's catenary for a few photos. Its always nice for my pantographs to actually reach something sometimes! Even though it was essentially a display track, it was very sturdy! I might need to use Model Memories wire for future projects. Thanks for an awesome day! I wish I took more pictures (I usually do!) but it was a busy day.

Thanks guys,
I agree Wayne, most of the P2K locos I have were bought used and usually had broken or missing railings. The color matching sometimes is a bit off on the plastic railings too. I don't want to even talk about how fragile the rolling stock grabs are. Green_Elite_Cab Wrote:Speaking of E8s, I didn't see 4063, but I DID see an engine painted to match 4083! Well not a photo but a movie. DL&W train wreck at the Delaware water gap. This wreck left a few cars at the bottom of the river that were never removed, the national park service now uses it as a spot for divers to explore, as shown in this diagram.

That flag pole is actually the switch that controls a turnout just to the right of the picture.
