Who knew that model railroading would prove a valid reason to get the wife to agree that we "need" a digital camera with a flash stick? She's tired of me asking her to photgraph stuff with her cellphone and then transmit it to the Sprint site and download it back to us. Can't blame her - only an outfit like Sprint could come up with such a cumbersome and unworkable plan in the first place.
I'm going to survey the house and see what else we "need". 8-)

I have those. My major problem there is getting them back from my wife!

Pure, dumb luck, but she is a "keeper" in every sense of the word. She was the first girl in 57 years, and raised by males who are all mechanically skilled. When we go to an auto parts store, I let her do the talking just so I can watch the expressions on the faces of the clerks! 8-)

The trick is to know the alternate uses of "necessary" tools, as in your miter saw example.

Speaking of "necessary tools," does having a Shopsmith MkV model 520, mean anything?? I mean how many power tools does it count as??
I only know what I know, and I don't understand very much of it, either.

Everything mentioned above worked for me.

"Why aren't you running that layout you spent so much time and money on, dear?"
"Well, sweetheart, I found out it really needs a specific kind of locomotive to work properly...."

Easy stuff there. Talk about the Allegheny a lot. Go to http://www.chessieshop.com/index.php?ma ... 20a&page=3 Get a Shirt. Get a small box write Allegheny on it , put some money in it. Add to it every once in a while. Keep it where she can see it . Make sure she sees you putting money in it. Go to LHS ask about best deal you can get. Mention to her about the deal. When she asks questions (she will if you play it right) Tell her how great of a deal it is. vuala.
