As many of you know Nguager & Myself have promoted MRR open house schedules for several years now. I have not taken part in the local one for a couple of years now as it is rather difficult for me to do now. Last week I spoke with some local MRR guys and I now have 3 guys that are going to help me get my layout in top shape mechanically and scenically so I can participate this year. Two of them stopped in this evening and we did some minor cleaning and ran some trains for a few hours.
Had a blast! Any way I hope I can be on the schedule again for several more years now.
Might seem kind of dumb to some of you
but to me this is fantastic

Good for you Les, my favorite line from the "Galaxy Quest" movie is, "never give up, never surrender". Where there's a will, there's a way, and you've found it so good luck on your next open house.

Sorry to hear about your loss of one hand, Les. Of course, Murphy's Law makes sure it will be your dominant hand, right?
Hope you do OK and regain some use of it soon.

Mountain man, I lost the use of my left hand 9 years ago due to a cerebral hemorrhage. I have been working with it ever since with PT. About a year ago I got tired. Stopped doing almost everything. I am now trying to get myself going again. Most of the old time guys here (sorry guys but you know who you are) helped me through some difficult times. I just like to keep them up to date on what is going on with the C&O in Delaware. We have a bunch of guys here who are good friends who don't even know how helpful they are.
Les.

For all who are interested I will be open November 19 & 26. You can go to http://www.modelrailroadopenhouse.com/index.html
or https://www.facebook.com/pages/Model-Ra ... 7033210575 for a complete run down. Normally the actual schedule is posted October 1. I try to get people to go to these open houses every year. If you don't live close enough to attend one maybe you have a friend or someone who hates you who does. Give them a call or e mail.

Good to hear that you're back on the layout tour, Les, and that you've got some good friends to give you a hand.
It's unlikely that I can make it for this year, but perhaps next time, as I'd love to see your layout in person.

Wish I could make it. The one serious drawback of mountain living is that it's often too far to a lot of desirable destinations.
Take pictures, Les...please.

If any of you guys find your path in my area just give a shout. I am about 35 miles off I 95 in Delaware. I mean anytime of year not just open house season. My layout is always open to other Model Railroaders. So consider this an open invitation. just Pm or email me.

That goes for me too.... Nights and weekends, the railroad is open to any railroader visiting the Philadelphia PA Area
