my grandson in his early 30's was helping a rancher put some hay in a shed the rancher said sure glad it's in bales grandson ask me what other way is there to but up hay I said when I was young my great uncle lose mowed hay as you can guess it led to a lot of questions after explained it to him he said that must have been a lot of work '

The new round bales are my favorite now. They are too big to muscle so machines do the work.

. It seems like no matter when we visited my wife's uncles farm (a 200 mile one way trip) he was putting up hay and those bales were heavy and awkward. However, we ate well.

And itchy, and dusty, and sweaty. Many a summer's day was spent baling and stacking.
