Greetings, gang.
50 now under cloudy skies headed for 70, still under cloudy skies. 100% chance of rain tonight and 90% tomorrow. Looks to be a day to stay indoors.
Yesterday was fun. I watched a couple of soccer games and then went to lunch with my grandson and his family. Lots of laughter and teasing. When I got home the new lamps had arrived so I assembled those. I really like the way they look. Nothing really on the agenda for today other than maybe a bike ride, depending on the wind.
All stay safe.

Good evening folks
Another long feeling weekend without much done. My wife and I took a trip out to Lancaster to hit a few shops she saw on line. They were for the most part not what she expected and disappointing. We did not buy anything. Of course once we arrived the heavy rain started and we got soaked going from the car to shops. After leaving and driving around a bit I remembered why I hate and avoid driving in Lancaster City.
Spent some time longing at vacation options. After what we have been through thus far this year we need a good vacation. Since cruise ships are sailing ou of Philadelphia again we are looking heavily into of those sailings.
I managed to build one Accurail wood box car kit.
The insurance inspector is coming by tommorrow to look at restoration repairs. Thursday the water mitigation folks will be here and on Friday the plumber comes to do the repairs. Wish us luck.
I hope everybody has a good evening.

Hello Blue
We have sun going into the 60s today. Boys are home from York. Got no plans for this day. Had a meal out over the weekend, was plentiful but tasteless. Won't order stuff cabbage there again.
Sadly during Covid our governors' executive orders caused many local family restaurants to close and never reopen. Lots of sport bars but not my thing. Remember her name Gretchen Whitmer if she tries to get into a fed job. She shut down just about every business but the drug store.

Greetings, gang
41 under clear skies this morning headed for the upper 50s later. Gonna stay cool all week.
Yesterday was somewhat productive. I had a decent sweatathon at the gym followed by more work on the living room floor. Progress definitely being made there. This morning I need to make a grocery run followed by a bike ride this afternoon. Work will also continue on the floor. This evening is a concert provided by the youngest great-grandson and his classmates. Always fun.
All stay safe.

Greetings, gang.
Slightly warmer this morning at 43 and not as breezy. High in the low 50s maybe.
Yesterday was not as productive as it should have been. I was going to ride the bike but the wind never died down from 25-30 mph. I did go out to maybe mow the yard but after experiencing that cold north wind I decided the yard looked just fine. I did finish up two of the three bad spots on the living room floor. I'll start on the third one today. Also on the agenda is a trip to the gym this morning and another music presentation this evening. I also want to get to the local bike shop to see if they have a cell phone holder. The last one came apart.
Gas jumped from $3.76 to $3.99 yesterday.
All stay safe.

Happy May Day, gang.
The cool weather continues in the remote reaches of northern Iowa. 45 now with mid 50s later. Frost advisory for tomorrow morning with a low around 33.
About the only thing accomplished yesterday was getting the yard mowed. Today's not very promising either as far as productivity goes. Just wish it would warm up so I can get outside. I did find out that my newest great-grandchild due in October will be a boy.
All stay safe.

Friday May Day.
Hello Blue
Gloomy skies, 50 for today's Hi. Did grocery shopping yesterday, saw that Walmart prices have risen to the point that there is no longer a savings in grocery shopping there. Gas prices are up close to five dollars now. Club house tonight, I will take a train to run.

Greetings, gang.
It's a downright chilly 27 degrees in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning at 27 degrees. Apparently Mother Nature is ignoring the calendar. Maybe the mid 60s by this afternoon.
Gym yesterday followed by a stop at the grocery store. Found out my preferred sports drink was on sale. Later this afternoon I'll stop by later to pick up some more. Also finished varnishing the last of the living room floor repairs.
Laundry and soccer this morning and probably a bike ride this afternoon. Also possibly some Dancing Nieces later. Haven't heard anything yet about the competition this weekend.
Gas dropped a whole 4 cents yesterday to $3.96
All stay safe.

Good morning folks
I am sitting behind plastic and have no walls in a portion of my living room and foyer. The plumber was here yesterday and replaced the soil pipe from about four feet belo the ceiling through the floor and in the basement. The water mitigation crew is here cleaning up and will be moving the plastic containment, so we have better access to the living room and dining room.
Once they are done, we have running to do; Post Office, UPS, pharmacy, grocery store, and possibly nursery. Tomorrow if the weather holds, I may clean out a portion of the garage. The yard tools need organizing.
The only modeling I can do since the layout is covered is building some rolling stock kits.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Greetings, gang.
Much warmer this morning at 50 degrees. Supposed to get to the low 70s but a little breezy later on.
Yesterday was entertaining. My great-grandson did an outstanding job as goalie during the second half of their loss. Afterwards 4 of us went to lunch where I was frequently referred to as "the dinosaur." Lots of laughter and teasing. One of the other great-grandsons manged to severely damage a finger while riding a scooter. Trip to the emergency room followed by surgery tomorrow to repair an index finger.
This morning I need to make a trip to Walmart and then to the cemetery for monthly maintenance on the grave site for my wife and son. After that the Dancing Nieces start at around 11 and have 10 performances in 9 hours. Looks like I'll be able to get in a bike ride during the afternoon. I didn't reach my goal of 17 miles yesterday. I forgot some required padding and gave up after 15. I may try again today although the wind could make it a little difficult.
Gas dropped 7 cents yesterday to $3.89.
All stay safe.

Happy Star Wars Day, gang.
May the Fourth Be With You!
One more decent day before it turns cooler again. 48 now headed for about 78 later but unfortunately quite windy again.
That wind kept me off the pollution solution vehicle yesterday but it did bring in some pleasant weather. Not much accomplished yesterday as I spent a lot of time in front of the tv watching the Dancing Nieces for the final time this season. For one of them it was her final performance as she graduates from high school next month. She will be attending college in Oklahoma City in the fall. I really don't have any plans for today other than a trip to the gym.
All stay safe.
