That is some GREAT detail on the piping! And I like the Heineken box in the background as well.

Very great work!
As a former steam loco repair man (1960 to '66) I love such specific details at steam loco models.
Cheers, Bernd

* Back to the C1.
* I removed a front pilot from a spare Roundhouse Atlantic frame. It is a very good match for the original Reading pilot in any of the photos. I mounted the new pilot and enlarged the pilot platform. I mounted both compressors and the fireman's side running board. Board seems to angle down in the front. I may need to remount compressors again a little higher up.
* The 2 things lying in the front are the 2 air tanks I am working on for mounting between the frame and boiler. They are seen in the elevation drawing.

* Well finally the project gets a little done. I have built a boiler front I can use. I replaced the headlight with one E-Paw found under his Christmas tree for me. It had a visor on it I had to remove, and marker lights to mount. Three boiler steps and a toolbox on the front pilot platform were done last night.
* I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some piping and railings are to be done. Also, a running board to be made and mounted, on the side seen up on the firebox side. I didn't like the original Mantua one. The last main scratch built parts to be made and applied. They are the ash pan dumping whatever they are. Collectors, scoops, releases. I don't really know what they are called. A 1915 article calls them " Conical Ash pans " Well whatever they are called two will be made. There are 4. The two centered on the sides of the firebox and easily seen will be reproduced and mounted. My rear truck is mounted in a normal way and does swing side to side more than the prototype. I hope the new detail will not get in the way.
Time will tell how it all comes together.

* Almost done.
*** Question ? ? ? Does it need a gloss, coat, or stay flat?

Congratulations
on the completion of your project. Rebuilding locomotives is not a task for the faint of heart. You've done a fine job and now have a very unique locomotive. I know too that the sense of accomplishment is also a very rewarding part of this kind of modelling.

Fantastic model you have made there. I like that 4-4-4 wheel arrangement. One of these days I want to build a 2-8-0 or 2-8-2 cross compound. You steam builders on this forum are my inspiration that I will be able to do it. One day.
Again, outstanding work, I am very impressed!
