I'm trying to replicate the Alco S2 switchers of the LAJ and am currently repainting the Atlas model. I was wondering where I could purchase a set of white chevron stripe decals like those on the front of this:

Any suggestions most welcome.
Sincerely hope I've posted this on the right forum.
Your first best bet is to see if anyone actually offers LAJ decals.
Microscale, Highball graphics, Great Decals, maybe Champs (though they are gone now, their decals still float around) may have a set specifically for that locomotive.
worst case scenario, you can buy striping decal from Microscale. just figure out the inch thickness of the stripes, and then try to make a template to cut them by. It could be hard because the ends wrap around a little, but if you're careful, you should be able to do it. it will be painstaking though.
You also might want to check out the decal sheets from Microscale for the Southern Railway...the chevrons you need are very close to the type they used on their engines.

Thanks, Green Elite Cab; hopefully they're available commercially as you suggest, as the other option is rather unappertising.

Microscale makes decal sheets for the Santa Fe zebra stripe in both silver and white. The white is version is #87-1161. I think it would work for the LAJ. They also do a number of alphabet sets in various railroad fonts in white, silver, gold, black and various colors. I think they have the correct font in white to put Los Angeles Junction Ry on the side of the hood.
I haven't tried ordering anything from them since they changed ownership, but they do have a lot of decal sets that I would like to order in the near future.
Had Rail Graphics ( )http://www.railgraphicsdecals.com/) make some for the LAJ ALCOs. Think it was around $40.00 for $25.00. Have sold 4 to friends who are doing a couple each also. Plan on doing all of them myself including the as delivered #1 as attached. So have 8 available for sale $2.00 each plus postage.
Note there's no stack on this one. The LAJ stacks were all round & as tall as the cab. Santa Fe ALCO s-2 & S-4 stacks were rectangular and tall like LAJ's.

Took a good look at the ATSF & LAJ zebra stripes. The LAJ's are about half the width of the Santa Fe ones. So bought a couple of Microscale's N scale 60-1161 decal sets to do my LAJ ALCOs. So have 10 sets of Champ EH-127S Santa Fe white zebra stripes to sell. LOL
