I'd like to know the year when Santa Fe started to have bay window cabeese in the red paint scheme with the emblem? Or did they not have bay window cabeese? Eek

I'm no ATSF expert... but the words Bay Window caboose and Santa Fe just don't go together in my world. The only ones I ever saw were the offset cupola style. Don;t know if they ever owned bay window cabooses.

Santa Fe Cabooses (cabeese ? :-):

A quick perfunctory scan didn't show any bay cabooses.

Wikipedia entry on Bay cabooses:

Actually - the Santa Fe had a few bay window cabooses: http://atsf.railfan.net/waycars/ce13.html, came from the absorbtion of the wholly owned subsidiary Toledo Peoria & Western.

The ATSF only had one single bay window caboose, an experiment they tried in the late 1970's and early 1980's. I believe it was built by International Car Company, it didn't last long. The TP&W also rostered a handful of bay window cabooses, but the ATSF never used them.
