Welcome back! I wasn't here, I don't think, when you were last here.

I'm not exactly sure why you want to build a model of Cole Porter. Are you a musician? :? Icon_lol Wink Big Grin

As far as End-of-Train Devices are concerned, I can offer the following ...
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.trains.com/trn/default.aspx?c=a&id=220">http://www.trains.com/trn/default.aspx?c=a&id=220</a><!-- m --> -- an article from Trains magazine regarding EoT devices ...
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.ringengineering.com/">http://www.ringengineering.com/</a><!-- m --> -- a kit to build a model of an End-of-train device ...
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.google.com/images?q=end+of+train+device&hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=avAMTL2sDYKC8ga7_cmKBw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=5&ved=0CDsQsAQwBA">http://www.google.com/images?q=end+of+t ... CDsQsAQwBA</a><!-- m -->
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.elpasohub.org/ATX.htm">http://www.elpasohub.org/ATX.htm</a><!-- m --> -- an press release/spec sheet re: Union Pacific's use of EoT's ...
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/6102491/description.html">http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/61024 ... ption.html</a><!-- m --> ... and ... from a competing forum ...

I hope the information provided above satisfies your question re: EoT devices ... but as far as Cole Porter is concerned ... :?: :?: :?: :? 357

Hi Thank you for the information it is helpful Big Grin

As far as a model of a musician that is not my objective .... if you look at the title of the thread it is spelt Coalporter not Cole obviously you are not conversant with the car.

This is a coalporter car.

He was kidding Nick Icon_lol , good to see you back again

as for the porters, over here on the ns line they park the unit coal train in a river yard with the standard FRED device still blinking for a few days 35 I'll have to check, I might have a far away shot of one of the waiting unit coal trains

I apologise Nick! I was making an attempt at humor ... My daughter always tells me I shouldn't, that my humor is just too obtuse, just like me! Big Grin 35 357 Icon_lol I tried to make a joke, a play on words, rather than suggest that you might be refering to hoppers or gondolas, but I guess it was just me being obtusely "out there." I was in a "Funny Mood" and was just making light of the differences between English English and American English ... Big Grin 357
But I DID offer some "totally useful" information, at least I hope it was useful. Cheers Cheers

BTW, those are nice photos of those hoppers, but in that one, you appear to be a bit chilled! Snow; I haven't really been in any since I moved to Florida. It just looks cold! Big Grin

But, please ... post more often ... join the new "Challenge!" Have some fun!

Wow! that's an obscure reference! I'm impressed. It's like when I am at the sports bar and refer to a local baseball pitcher as "Jimmy" Webb. With all his injuries lately, I say that someone left that cake out in the rain! 24 790_smiley_picking_a_fight

Found one of them, to the left of the dash 9, the unit coal train is mixed with the older conrail bethgons, 3 bay and 4 bay hoppers, and NS's own Top Gons, the top gons were rebuilt from H11 and 12 class hoppers.
