I hope you are not in a hurry to hear about the interface as I am kind of thick headed. One thing I can tell you for sure is it helped me fix a problem I had with a Bachmann locomotive with factory decoder. That was after only 3 days after I got it, not 3 days of trying. About 3 hours total of playing with it. Then try the Bachmann and fixed it first try.
