ESU files for gp38-2
#1
Hi all
I've got a proto2000 GP38-2 that needs a sound chip. Now I'm in the UK and its easier for me to source a loksound chip, and through a good friend who programs UK sounds he has said he'll try his hand at adding a US sound to one for me. I've been on the ESU website but all the 645 sounds they have for 16cylinder engines seem to have a turbo charger listed, is this correct as I thought that some were for non turbo charged locos, am I being silly or do they not do a decent GP38-2 sound. If so does anyone know of a sound file for a loksound to fit to a GP38-2 or any other suggestions. http://www.esu.eu/en/downloads/sounds/ge...us-sounds/

Thanks
Dave

Well, that is weird! the GP38-2 is only the second most popular 4 axle switcher (behind the GP40-2) in this country. I'm sure they just "assumed" they had all the right sounds.

regardless, go with a Tsunami by Soundtraxx. they may be harder to get, but are superior in most cases to the competition.

Hi thanks yeah I have a Tsunami chip in a MP15AC and its very good, its just that I already have a loksound chip, I have a feeling that someone at ESU has edited that site page and accidently taken out the non turbocharged text for some reason, as looking over other websites that have a similar list with ESU stock numbers the 72482-5 range all say non turbo charged.
