Great catch Todd. Glad to see NS still has some blue left. It's very rare around here to see a conrail painted locomotive though. I think I had seen 2 in the past 6 months.

Todd,
Looks like you have a great photo spot to catch the Heritage units and now one of the last remaining SD50s' in Conrail Blue.
Nice shots.

I had been talking to my brother lately and the one day while we were texting I seen the east bound trash train coming through Portage. It didn't have the typical power on but instead had SD80MAC's. I had asked my brother about this and he told me NS pulled some MAC's out of storage and assigned them to the trash trains. What MAC's that are not in storage will continue to pull coal drags but will no longer go any further than South Fork, Pa. They do continue to pull the empty coal trains into Portage for loading and take them to South Fork where they sit for a not even a day or up to a few days before heading east. The MAC's will continue to go to Cresson for refueling and sand. I had asked my brother if they were planning on replacing the MAC's because of their age and he wasn't sure about that. It is however nice to see the MAC's doing other jobs than pulling coal drags. If I recieve any more information about the MAC's I will let you all know. Have a good night and a safe upcoming week.

thanks gentleman for the compliments. that location though is one of the nicest around here for the broad side ways pictures. however i did hear it is the last SD50 in Conrail Blue. not sure if that is in fact true though.

Todd,
There are only five SD50's and two C40-8's left in Conrail Blue.

Great catch Todd. My brother was the conductor on that train. They took it to altoona where another crew picked it up and continued east.
