The local railfan guides say the Zenith Transfer runs "as needed", but it finally got a call, and the PC locos seesaw through the terminal throat to get to the yard so they can build their train:
The first task is to pick up the caboose
and shove it to the end of the track where the train will be made up.
It looks like someone got a tip about the Zenith Transfer running today, and the someone seems to be the great PC videographer Emery Gulash.

Clifton Forge Va is sending the V&O gondola out to Russell for the first leg of its long trip. Here we see the west bound train being pulled out to prepare for the trip.

Getting the power out and going the right direction.

After loading up with coal she is heading out to hook up.

looks like a couple more feet and we are ready to go.

On the way west. This is a new section here. In fact this is the first train to run on it.

The Zenith Transfer power continues to drill out the train:

Both the D&H hopper and the SFRD reefer (not Mike's!) needed some attention, but that's what happens when you operate. And the switchlist has an SKX tank car, which I can't find anywhere, so it's not going. I assume it'll turn up at some point. Other than that, the train is ready and heads out of town:         The train passes a light set of PC power at Drawbridge     And Emery Gulash has caught up and is filming away:         My wife and I are going on vacation for two weeks, so Mike's car will be delayed that long. More photos when we get back!

Well at last this load of fish is on the move. I caught it as it was leaving the yard in the local.

Its on the way east bound, but it will be spotted on the return trip.

Now we are going west bound, Switched ends and going back. Most of the drops are off a double track main.

Pushing it to Jones.

This is a two man operation. On to stop traffic one to spot the car.

Pardon the cobwebs, I thought I got them all. This is a new angled photo for me, I kinda like it.

I took a break to go on vacation, and then two emergencies came up, but now I'm back running the Zenith Transfer with Mikes SFRC reefer. Here are the locos at CP Jaques
and here's Mike's reefer     This is the least-scenicked part of the layout, we should be getting back in the scenery area next time.

The power for the Zenith Trasnsfer is switching out Mike's SFRC reefer so it can head back home. In the foreground, WM 145 is the power for Y221, the First Zenith Switch.

Now to clean up my mess and get back to doing some shipping. I honestly got it straight last night. I am excited to be up and running completely.

On the other hand, I'm concerned at the low interest level in these threads -- the view totals on the photos say a lot, nothing like those for most other threads. And there've only been a few participants.

Well do we keep it going or should we just let it die ? I would like to keep it going for a while and leave it open to everyone who want's to participate. I am just now beginning to run trains again since I guess late June and like the option of receiving cars from another layout. or being the between road having a car pass through. Is there a way to promote the idea?

If some other guys choose to join, that's good, but I'm less interested in just swapping back and forth among a few guys!
