how are the chances for a new run of the Kato's SD80MAC?
Could I build a SD80MAC from a SD9043MAC?

Hello Marco,welcome to the Gauge.

Not sure is KATO if doing another run of the SD80 ,but there are usually some on E bay.

As for building one from a SD90 I suppose it is possible but it would mean some major reworking of the rear of the shell.

You could ask Kato directly. The more people that are interested, the more likely they are to do it.
