Latest update. It turns out that it is in my DCC system. I contacted MRC they told me to send it to them with $75 and they would fix it. As I am unable to work I don't have $75 laying around I am returning to DC operations for a while.

1. Glad you found the source of the problem
2. Sorry to hear that MRC wants to charge you to make things right, maybe someone here has a better suggestion on where to go for repairs
3. Also sorry about your health issues, hope you get back to 100% soon
4. Good to see you have a fall-back of DC.

Don I will never be able to return to work. Think back to 07 I had a massive stroke. I have learned to make life livable again, with less money. My MRC is approaching 10 years old so I can't expect much more. I doubt if any other manufacturers would do better.

Yes, I'm aware of your stroke, they can be the end of the world if you let them but it sounds as if you're doing your best not to let that happen. Some people just lay back and give up, and that's a shame. I have a friend that is recovering from one six months ago. I talked to him yesterday, and he sounds like he is doing just fine.

And I can see where a ten-year old controller wouldn't be worth the cost of fixing it. What I was suggesting was that maybe someone here has some experience working on them and could do something for you without sending it to MRC. I've never been shy about working on just about anything electronic, but I don't have any DCC equipped engines to test the unit on. Let me talk to Woodone, and maybe between us we can help you.
