O scale bobber

Thought I'd share a conversion I did of an MTH O-gauge caboose. It started life out as a V&T 3 rail bobber caboose. Now I know V&T never had a bobber caboose but I liked it. The guy I bought it from was really heavy into 3 rail O. I on the other hand have dabbled in 2 rail since the mid 1980's. So it was fairly easy to convert, loosen the side frame for the wheels and trade wheels. Unscrew the over sized coupler and put O scale Kadee couplers. At the moment, the plastic wheels keep me from having lights in the darn thing but I think I can fit a AAA battery underneath and light it that way. I don't like bright lights in cabooses anyway this would make it look like kerosene lantern light. I didn't take a before picture but here is an after shot.

A sad side line to this story is, the guy I bought it from had a stroke and died, so he never got to see it running. He was a big V&T fan.
