As I'm not as active right now I'm grateful someone got me over here, that place went downhill fast, goes to show how bad moderation could get.

Our greatest fear was that, because of the changes over there, we were going to loose all the good people that stuck with the-gauge over the years. We might not have gotten them back and so that's why Mikey and I started Big Blue. All but one of our moderators felt the same way and are still here, as are a whole lot of our old friends. Even the paper admins and mods bailed out and went to a different forum around the same time we left. Some of the paper guys have trickled back, but it just seems like in the five years since CG took over, things haven't gotten any better. This incident with Les though, takes the cake. :o

LOL. I just replied to two old threads, the postings were deleted, and I got a stern warning as a PM. Rhaven says I can't post to a thread more than 3 months old. ALL the threads there are more than three months old! Now he says I must read the rules and respond via PM that I read the rules.
This guy is MILITANT.

I would ask why they don't lock the threads that are more than 3 months old. I guess that is why I am not allowed back.

Boy, I wonder if the same rules apply to the paper forums? Are those guys slapped on the hand or banned for posting to an old thread? Not much going on elsewhere there. There was a point when the "Shark" was running things that he said he was going to delete all threads that he deemed inactive. BTW, if anybody cares to know, he had started a Motorcycle forum that was also purchased by CG. He was removed as admin from that at the same time he was removed from that place we're talking about. If I were these guys, I'd welcome the fact that there were more than two or three guys trying to post in the railroad section. Let's face it, you are right, just about every thread there has gone more than three months without a post, what do they expect anyway?

I posted to two more older threads - basically telling someone "Nice work!" And when I say "older" I mean two years old, but the thread is still only about 5 from the top.
Let's see if they ban me or delete the posts.

Apparetnly, you can't find a thread over there that is more than 3 months old, where someone did good work, and say "Nice Job! I like your work!"
I guess it is called Necroposting.
Whatever.
I guess they want their forum to be dead.

Wow, Rhaven sent a PM saying that I had to read the forum rules and respond ASAP to his PM, he gave me about 15 minutes and I did not respond in that time, and I have been banned for life!!!
I was going to respond that I was only trying to liven up the board and give praise of good work, and that it's impossible to respond to any thread because most are over 3 months old.
And this clown can't even give me enough time to respond to his PM.

I'm still getting messages from Zealot, about banned posts, etc. Maybe they never came to realize that I was "gone". Then again, I never submitted, in triplicate, a formal resignation......I just "walked away"
I still have access, couldn't find anything to reply to, so "walked away", again.

I know that we "disbarred" all the mods as they quit and Mikey and I both pulled the plug on ourselves when we left. (Yes, the last one out did indeed turn the lights out). We both had secondary mod usernames, but when the "Shark" came aboard, he took those out as well. I think he was the only one there at one point, so I have no idea why you're getting anything like this, somehow the software has failed. hock: Maybe you should go there and post in an old thread and get yourself banned. The notifications may stop after that.

That's why I called it "the other site"...I could go back and edit that to read "the Atlas site". , but I did edit out the "other site" part.
