Model Railroad Open Houses

Here we go again!!! 2285_ 2285_

I know there aren't that many members in the area, but I want to remind those that are close by, that Lester & I are once again part of the Open house Tour in Delaware and Pennsylvania respectively.

Here is the link to the schedule:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.modelrailroadopenhouse.com/modelschedule.html">http://www.modelrailroadopenhouse.com/m ... edule.html</a><!-- m -->

I'm open October 26th and Lester is open November 9th and 10th... There are a mind boggling (mind numbing??) 124 layouts of all scales in the area and some are open 2 or 3 times (Like Lester) that provide 202 opportunities to visit other layouts... For the first time, on October 27th there is a Live Steam club open.. Goldth I'm already planning my visit!! Goldth

Note that you guys in New Jersey do have a few close to you!!!! If you go - Take pics and post them here!!! They are open November 9th.

I am looking forward to this year. Last year was possibly the best I have ever had and I have been active since 96.

Guys if possible take a day and enjoy model railroading in a way you have never before.

Well - Now I'm sore!!!!! Eek

- Cleaned all the track
- Had to tune up the trolley - Cleaned wheels and contacts
- Cleaned the layout scenery ------ somewhat Nope Goldth
- Tested everything (ran all 4 trains) - Well - I had to test the R/C didn't I?? Goldth Goldth
- Found more track that needed TLC and tweaking and cleaning Wallbang
- Dusted off the crossbuck and the mountains
- Set a new "hook" in the front of the layout for the new tethered controller I built
- Put Wahl oil down on all the rails - Nice and smooth running now!!!! Thumbsup

So, after more than 2 hours: my back and shoulder are sore...
Big Grin Big Grin I'd Much Rather "watch them run" than work on them!! Big Grin Big Grin

Anyway --- I'm as ready as I can be for the Open House in 2 weeks!!!! Smile Smile

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

Would love to show up at your doors, but it's just a little bit out of my way. But, I do wish all of you success with your open houses and hope that the weather cooperates.

This year, i should actually be free to visit. I'm definitely going to stop in Bill Kachel's layout, which is supposed to be electrified to the max. I may also drop by Lester's.

Our club is also listed now, on November 30th. We have other open house days, but none others in November.

I might have stopped by, though I had to be in Staten Island today. I'll definitely try for next year! I'll definitely be able to visit Lester's layout on a Sunday
