I will be attempting to build a Milw. Rd diesel tank car in HO scale. I will be kit bashing a Tichy tank car kit. The car was used to fuel locomotive where the was no set tank. Here is a picture of the car from Morning Sun freight car book Vol.1, page 90.

That is a very interesting car. I like the inclusion of some sort of pump and the hoses which is a neat detail. Kind of interesting the pipe that extends up and is capped off like it was or could be attached to an overhead fueling system? Also will you be modeling your car detailed like this one?

Yes Greg, I will try to get it as close as I can other than the broken wheel.

Interesting looking tank. I do think though that the broken wheel adds something to it. I would include it as it's part of the character of it.
It's a good day when you wake up in the morning. It's not your problem if you don't.

I started the build using a Tichy short dome tank car. I built the framer per instructions.
the rest of the car will need a few changes.

Now on to the tank body. I started with the dome. I had to modify the vent pipes.

I really like the look of that Tichy tank car. I have intentions of building one someday but it is way down on the list of projects. I wish they make some more freight cars as everything they have is really top notch.

I have to agree Greg, very detailed right down to the rivets.
