Scratchbashing an HOn3 Reefer

That turned out well, Glen.  I like the rust effects you've added, too.  Some of the EBT hoppers I saw had side- and slope-sheets completely rusted away...

...but it's always been one of my favourite places to visit, even when the trains weren't running.

All looks real nice! Is there a thread regarding the tank locomotive in the background?

Thanks Wayne and Kevin. Kevin, the tank engine in behind is one of the MDC 3-1 kits. You can build a 0-8-0 tank engine or a 2-4-4-0 tank articulated engine. I've built both but unfortuntely I don't have a build thread on them.
The kit does turn up from time-to-time on ebay.

So you built yours as a 2-4-4-0?  I built one as a 2-6-2t following a Mexican prototype - a really fun project.

Kevin, here's the 2-4-4-0t
[Image: 006_zps7fce29a8.jpg]
And the 2-8-0t

I should mention that they are both unpowered as the kits don't give you any motors, gears or electrical pick-up parts.
