The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!!
And a very good morning to ya all. We have an "excessive heat warning" starting tomorrow, I guess they don't feel that today's 111 is excessive enough to call it. I get a kick out of some of these TV guessers, "bringing you another a weather action day", they say at one channel. What the heck does that mean???? Sounds important though. Won't know though since DISH is fighting with ABC and they've pulled those channels off there for a while. Don't know if that's all over or just local. As for us, call it anything you want, I call it HOT....

Enough of that, just think I'll go do some more wiring on my layout, maybe rest a bit or just tune to the Weather Channel and watch all the action. Icon_rolleyes

Greetings, gang.

Sunny and 62 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. The high is supposed to be in the upper 80s with additional sunshine.

Quiet day yesterday. Went to the gym and later took a short bike ride. This morning I'll be heading to Walmart a later on I'll take a long bike ride. News over on the MR and Trains forums is that Neil Besugoloff (sp?) passed away after suffering a heart attack while recovering from Covid. My condolences to his family.

Gas here is back down to $1.93.9 after spiking last week to $2.04.9

All stay safe.

Don Detroit's ABC station is off the dish too. We still get it from our cable company.
Sun and middle 80's today.
I love summer and glad it's here but the China virus has sure spoiled our usual summer activities.

Staying in.  Tomorrow, drive to Raleigh and sit in a training class for property tax hearings.  [get paid for a change]

Sty cool and safe.

Good morning folks. Sunny and dry in Southeast Ohio. Mild temperatures today only a high of 85 is expected.
Got rid of our old Coachmen camper. We bought it in 2009 to use as a guess room but it had outlived it's welcome and we had a young fellow that wanted it for his camp site so I gave it to him.  I am debating building a little one room cottage with a bath in it's place but we haven't had visitors that would stay with us for over 3 years. We have our good camping trailer that could easily be used by guests, or I could move in there and allow the guest my room.
We won't be camping an where this year anyway.
Stay cool
Charlie
Greetings, gang.

Partly cloudy, muggy, and 69 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. High for today should be in the upper 80s according to our very good friends at the National Weather Service.

Yesterday didn't go quite as planned. Just as I was ready to head out the door for Walmart a friend called. We talked for about an hour and a half. By that time the crowds at Walmart had picked up so I will try again tomorrow morning. I know that if I go this morning I will skip the gym and I do want to go to the gym.

Gas prices here are goofy. We are hosting the girls state softball tournament (for the 50th year in a row) and gas price at the stations nearest the ballpark (on the north edge of town) are at $1.86.9. In town gas price is $2.04.9

Right now I'm just waiting for the paper to arrive so I can have breakfast.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, yet another day in paradise, lets just call it hot, "excessive heat warning" and "air quality alert" are in effect for the rest of this week, temps don't go below 110 until at least next Tuesday. Rain? Hah.... Stay indoors, we already are doing that, crank up the A/C, I may have to take out a second mortgage to pay the electric bill now. June was close to $300, July should be closer to $400, but then there's our winters. 2285_

Hey Tom, I know you didn't make it to Walmart yesterday, but isn't there something better in the house for you to eat than the newspaper???? Icon_lol Just kidding, but from what you said....

Got an email at one of my hardly used addresses telling me that this guy spied on me through my camera while I was supposedly on some porn site. What he doesn't know is that not only don't I do that, but my camera had been disconnected for years. Just a shot in the dark to try to extort $1000 from me, can't remember, but it probably was in Bitcoins which I haven't a clue as to how to get in the first place. He did have one of my passwords, which I understand is suppose to give credibility to the scam... Didn't work, wrong target...Nope

Afternoon.  Had my first tax appeals board meeting.  Was an easy ride in as started at 9 and did not have to drive into the heart of Raleigh.  Would you believe one member complained about the location.  Right off I 440, free parking and easy walk in from parking lot.  Downtown, drive into the heart of Raleigh, have to use the county parking deck [get free passes], walk two blocks into court house, security scan and go up one floor.  Ding dong.

We had over 2" of much needed rain late yesterday afternoon and night.  More guessed for this afternoon and night.  Still hot and humid.  Set a record for most consecutive day of 90m and above for July yesterday [high was 97 officially at the airport which is west of us quite a ways].

Hope all are doing OK.

Good afternoon folks

It is 88 heading to 92.

I am trying to paint a small birdhouse for my wife. With the heat it is run out paint a little and then come back in and cool off. Then repeat.

I am hoping to get back to the layout sometime today or tonight.

I hope everybody has a good day.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

Greetings, gang.

Partly cloudy and a pleasant 67 degrees outside my window this morning. The high for today should be an equally pleasant 82. No rain for the foreseeable future, at least according to the NWS. I haven't had a significant rain since early June. On the bright side I haven't had to mow the yard either.

My day got derailed again yesterday. Got home from the gym and there was a message from a friend. Spent over 3 hours on the phone helping him solve issues with his e-mail. He switched internet providers and made some changes which he didn't need to make. Took a while to drill down to that. This morning I'll head to Walmart and the later on take a nice long bike ride.

Don - laughed out loud when I saw your comment about my breakfast.

All stay safe.

Yeah, probably is, I don't remember being in Pennsy on that day anyway. Still, the Shekles I have were printed on my computer, that's why I can email them, so the jokes on him.... Icon_lol

Good morning all, this should be the 27th day of 110 or higher this year. We also have a bunch of days where we never got below 90, so I guess this is one of those above average summers.

Stayed indoors all day yesterday, not because of the virus "stay at home" thingy, just way too hot to go out. Touch the car anywhere and get a nice burn, touch the chrome and get a blister.

Good morning folks

It is 86 and heading up to 92 and very hot.

I finally got the last of the rolling stock off the layout. Next begins the tree removal process.

After the sun went down the wife and I trimmed some of the azaleas and weeded the garden around the pond.

I hope everybody has a good day.
