I don't ever recall CPR's names for their paint choices, but simply looked at the cars as they rolled by or viewed them when they were parked in a yard, or at an industry. I saw lots of them, and painted models more-or-less based on what I saw, in my hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.
Of course, different cars would have been painted at different times, and even if they used the same paint, time and weathering would shift the colours.
I'm not at all familiar with Vallejo paints, as I still have a fairly good stock of Pollyscale, in my opinion, the best model paint I've used...better than Floquil, better than Scalecoat, and way better than Model Master.
Here's a few of my CPR house-cars...
As you can see, a variety of colours and a variety of degrees as far as weathering is concerned. Of course, I'm modelling the late '30s, but I do recall seeing what looked like freshly painted CPR boxcars in a very rich-looking brown, at that time, wearing the script-style lettering.
At one time, I did have HO scale cars with both the script lettering and the Spans the World graphics, too...they later were either sold-off or repainted and re-lettered.
My apologies for not being able to provide the information that you're seeking.
EDIT: This likely won't be much help, but I just now ran across this photo...
It's also shown in the earlier photos, re-painted and re-lettered (but with almost the same number).
