Another outstanding start to the week---excellent pictures everyone.
The CNR S3A Mikadoes were favourites on the Leetown Division and they earned the nickname "Cadillacs" among the motive power crews---they were good pullers, rode smoothly and those automatic stokers made the fireman's job a lot easier especially when working heavy freights on the Stoney Creek Hill. The S3A class were light USRA Mikes that started life on the Grand Trunk Western but many were transferred to the CNR in the 40's where they remained until diesels entered the scene---two of the class have been preserved and can be seen today on the Leetown Division.
