Threading wires
#1
Hi All,

Dont know if this has been covered before but here goes ....... have you ever had wires you need to thread down through scenery to the Bus wires and spent time cursing ..... easy solution is drill a hole to accept a length of plastruct tubing put the tubing in the hole and thread the wire through remove the tubing and the wires are in place in no time Big Grin Big Grin

Good idea! Cheers I would think that you could use soda straws. Cost would be a lot less.

Ha' such simple ideas should be outlawed 2285_
Reminds me of a problem a friend had just today, the door leading to his train room refused to stay open constantly swinging shut ever so slowly when he wanted it open for ventilation.
He removed the pins from the hinges and roughed them up..no dice went to the expense of replacing them....nope' kept swinging shut finally asked me if i knew of a solution.
Asked 'em for a small punch 'n' a ball peen hammer.
Knocked the pins out of the hinges took the pins outside on the concrete and gave'm a whack with the hammer putting a slight kink in the pin, just enough to cause a little friction.
Drove' them back in the hinges ......no more swinging door. Cheers

Re: Threading wires... I've always taken a metal coat hanger, straightened it out and run it up through the scenery from the bottom. I then tape the wires to the coat hanger and simply pull it back down through.

Re: Swinging door... I must not be seeing the whole picture here. I would have thrown something in front of the door like a shoe, book, cat, or a door stop but it sounds like, for some reason, you were not able to do that hence the complicated solution. Eek 357
