This looks stellar, Don! I see these kits in truck stops occasionally and think “Hmmm that might be fun” then see you post one of these and decide to pass! Better you than me! ??

Thanks again folks, these really are fun to build, but do require patience. 

I decided that since they are wood, that some stain might enhance their look. I took the roof and wheels off of this one and airbrushed some light oak stain on the body, then over-sprayed with some clear gloss poly. I left the roof plain since on the prototype, (a 1910 RR Silver Ghost), the roof was either white or black canvas. I might have been better off sealing it all first because the different pieces took the stain differently. The tires are just painted with acrylic, then clear coated.

Don, that looks amazing!!!! I agree, with adding some stain it makes it pop out even more.

I seen a video the other day on tik tok from a guy who built the steam engine and he was pushing it across his layout. I don't know if you have ever seen that one but I'm sure you could build it.
