Always an interesting problem: for spare parts lying around, do you use models of prototype parts or spare model parts?

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

You might want to consider not gluing the roof to the walls. That way if there is a problem such as derailment inside the engine house you can access it easily.

Thank you Tom. I did take your advice and didn't glue the roof on.

As of right now it is spare parts I have laying around. I do want to model prototype parts here in the future.

Good to see you building structures, have you given any thought to painting them?

Thank you Tom. I did notice in the picture of the mine that there is track laid for the mine carts so that's nothing new. I do how ever want to extend the rail in the building. I'm doing the same with the upper building as well so the track can go right into the mountain.

I know I should have painted it before I put it together and I wasn't thinking until afterwards. But with a steady hand and small enough brush, I am getting the job done lol. Now the fun part begins with bending rail and getting a tight enough curve. I am looking into finding mining cars for this.
