  HOn3 rerailer
Posted by: Graffen - 03-02-2018, 05:45 PM - Forum: Tools - Replies (2)

Hi all, I have had a problem with putting my HOn3 locomotives and cars on the track.
On my standard gauge I used a plastic rerailer ramp.
It's a bit of an overhang on the narrow gauge equipment, so you can't easily grab the trucks to rerail them...
I heard that there was a commercially made rerailer ramp available, but I haven't seen one in many years.
I then designed this:

I designed it in Fusion 360 and printed it in PLA on my Wanhao Duplicator 4S.
It works really good:

I think I'll make it available on my Shapeways store... Smile

  New Athearn Genesis GP15-1 price
Posted by: faraway - 03-02-2018, 12:01 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - Replies (4)

The brand new Athearn HO Genesis GP15-1 in boxcar paint scheme is offered in Germany for
DC version 210 Euro / 258 USD / 188 GBP
Sound version 330 Euro / 406 USD/ 295 GBP
I will skip this one. That is the first time I will not buy a model I would like to have because I am not willing to pay the price.
(Buying in US is not a much better bargain today due to shipping and import tax)

  Atlas automatic signal system
Posted by: RailCop - 02-21-2018, 01:13 PM - Forum: Upper Berth - No Replies

Does anyone know what ever happened to the Atlas Automatic Signal systems that Atlas released several years ago? I thought they might be a good, easy way to have a signal system on my layout. However, now that I am about ready to install them they are nowhere to be found. Apparently they either did not work as planned or nobody was buying them.
Just wondering, thanks.

I was on another website and saw a posting that the NMRA Facebook page is running a contest from February 1st through April 1st where you have to start with Dannen Feeds from Railroad kits which is $8.99 with free shipping (coupon code 'nmra') You can build the kit however you want, of course more bonus points for creativity and added features. For those wanting to play along check out the link:
