a huge spiral and return loop. 9 engines spaced among the 241-243 coal cars.
it sounds less like a typical MRR, and more line rain

Hi Blue. I found this gem on the internet archive. lots of traction and some name trains. not too hard to watch though it will never get an Oscar.
I recommend it it says LA and San Francisco. 24 minutes https://archive.org/details/6376HMVacat ... t201004412

 BOeC layout
Posted by: MLW - 10-05-2014, 10:15 AM - Forum: Layouts - Replies (231)

A little thread about my layout the Bonaventure & Chambly (BOeC) in HO scale.

It is a compressed rendition of the St-Hyacinthe Subdivision and Drummond Subdivision in eastern Canada, Quebec, representing the very busy main line between Montreal and Quebec city. Montreal is not depicted except a compressed version of the Montreal Gare Centrale (Central Station), otherwise Montreal is staging. Quebec city is staging only.

Towns along the way are St-Hyacinthe, Ste-Rosalie, Drummondville, and the A20.

I`ll post more pics as the layout progress.

Thank you for looking

I was wondering if anyone has fiddled with these and if they are worth buying?

 Brierbaur House

In the late 1800's a German man opened a brewery in New Lisbon Wisconsin. In the early 1900's he built himself, at that time, a mansion. He was a bit of a train buff because he built his hone right next to the Milwaukee Road mainline. I will be attempting to reproduce his home in HO scale sometime in the 1950's O ver the years the house fell into disrepair, here is a picture of it from about two years ago.

and a recent picture after it was refurbished.

I hope you all follow along as I build this thing.

November is Model Railroad Month Presentation
Posted by: Roger Hensley - 10-03-2014, 04:31 AM - Forum: Tours, Events and Shows - Replies (5)

The Madison County Historical Society will hold a "November is Model Railroad Month" presentation on Monday October 27th at 7 PM at the History Center at 11 West 11th Street in downtown Anderson Indiana. The evening will consist of a Power Point Presentation with photos of trains and buildings from older to modern. About the middle of the Presentation, the emphasis will shift to Model Railroading with slides showing many of the advantages of becoming involved with Model Railroading, and a number of the benefits. There will be models on display showing scale in both locomotives and buildings.

The Presentation will close showing views of the basement layouts and 4 or 5 shots from each of several actual model railroads. This will take about 45 minutes and all are welcome especially younger folks. This presentation is geared for people of all ages. If you have younger people who may be interested in the hobby, by all means bring them. There is no charge and entry is free. Parking is available in the lot across the street and on the street as well.

I hope to see many of you at this presentation.

Alongside the Erie Northshore's track, between Indian Line and the Maitland River, there's a field where nothing much ever seems to grow:

Occasionally, one might see a lone tree standing in its middle, often accompanied by patches of greenery which later seemed to have moved or disappeared, overnight:

At other times, the tree would be gone or lying on it's side...too gruesome to show. Eek

Yesterday, passersby were astounded to see this...

...and it didn't take long for a small crowd to gather:

This morning, another old friend came to visit, and now appears to be firmly rooted in place:
