Will be doing another clinic on the LAJ

Thinking about doing it on the LAJ locos before 90s mega-mergers. Anything in particular you'd like me to cover let me know here. My clinic is one of over 40 so check Clinics & Schedule. One is being given by actor Michael Gross ~ Easy Freight Car Weathering. Check out the many other events by clicking on the items on the left side. To name a few there will be layout tours, model contests, module displays & a swap meet.

I have not much to post here yet but these 2 subjects are of great interest to me, I know quite a bit about the general field of electronics and have been an armchair roboticists(still have not been past the reading phase on robots but will some day build one from a kit and then again from scratch). Anyone else out there have similar interest?

I do believe that a roboticists that is just starting out should start with a kit to learn the ins and outs of robotics then the next step is to modify a kit and then make a robotic creation of your own.

Once I get some more cleaning and some old projects completed I will tackle some Sci-Fi kits that have accumulated on my supply shelf they include the following:

1. Qty. 1 Colonial vipper (original Battle star galactica)
2. Qty. 1 three pack Enterprise 3 versions
3. Qty. 1 A Y-wing fighter (starwars)
4. Qty. 2 Robbie the robot (from the forbiden planet can be built in 2 versions)

rrpicturearchives http://www.rrpicturearchives.net has never been a fast side at the internet. But it became a real problem during the last month. Each and every access takes at least one minute. I tried several different ways and providers to reach it from Germany but no help.
Do you have the same lame performance accessing the side from inside the US?

Well, finally, we are now opening the third auction of a series of auctions that we’ve been recently holding. This one is for an N scale, 40’ boxcar as pictured below and decorated by ezdays. The car has been stripped, repainted in BB&G colors, decorated in our Anniversary scheme and clear-coated. Along with the BB&G herald, it has the “Anniversary Special” lettering. The build plaque shows a build date of 12-01 (when the original Gauge was started) and a rebuild date of 12-08 (the rebirth of The-Gauge as Big Blue). Those are the dates that make up our 10th and 2nd anniversaries. Also, note that this car has a unique number (BBG100201) that will not appear on any other BB&G rolling stock. We will leave any weathering to its new owner if they think it’s appropriate. This car, we hope, will become treasured and be a show of pride for your membership and support of the Big Blue Train Forums.

We auctioned off several other HO and N scale anniversary cars during our anniversary celebration, but we saved a few to be auctioned off at this time. The winning bidder of any of the anniversary cars will receive, along with the car, a certificate of authenticity signed by the person that decorated it.

Now, let’s get started. We are offering this car to the highest bidder. Here are the bidding rules:
1. There is an opening bid of $5.00, but there is no reserve, the highest bidder at the time the auction closes will get the car.
2. Please keep you bid raises in increments of at least fifty cents and preferably a dollar or more.
3. You can bid publicly by posting it in this thread. This thread is for bidding only; any comments or questions should be made in this thread or by PM to either ezdays or ngauger. Non-bid posts will be deleted from this thread.
4. If you want to enter an anonymous bid (just like the rich and famous do), you can PM either ezdays or ngauger and we will bid on your behalf, (we will post the bid amount, but keep your name confidential, just like at those big auction houses). You may also want to give us the maximum you would want to go and we’ll bid for you by adding one dollar above the last bid, up the maximum that you have set, again, just like Christie’s does for the big boys.
5. The auction will run for three weeks, and will close at noon EST on September 23, at which time we will announce the winner and ship the car to them.
6. The successful bidder will pay all shipping costs. That cost is estimated to be under $5.00US.
7. Payment can be by PayPal, check or MO. We will give the winner instructions on how and where to pay.

I have an interest in picking up a Marklin Amtrak X995. This is the prototype AEM7 electric, which would be operating during the time period I intend to model.

That said, it is set up for use on European track. I do have a spare set of AEM7 motors and Wheel sets from an Atlas model, but I don't know if these will match.

Is it possible to convert these engines to DC easily? Or would it likely become a mess of a project? Is anyone familiar with marklin models in general, and know how they are wired?

Found this Precision Screwdriver Set at Home Depot buying some tools for a job, it was closer to the registers in their bargain area.

For $3.88 you get a good small screwdriver set.
