While on my morning walk "rest" I heard a horn blowing and walk over to the track and saw a white face unit coming slow.I hustled over to the east side of the connector track and took these photos..

NS got rid of the E8's shortly after the take-over. These are F units they bought several years ago and completely overhauled/rebuilt them. They did the work in Altoona, and when I saw them close up they were in showroom condition.

Larry, those are great shots. I'm stuck on a low volume line and have only seen them by us one time. They were parked in Oakmont for a golf tournament a couple of years ago and I got a close look at the whole train. Beautiful work, and beautiful automotive quality paint jobs. I am glad there are still craftsmen in the industry.

Here are a couple of NS 11, the one is a digital close up so you can see the paint and lettering better. The paint is close to the old fashioned candy apple red.

Great pictures. Larry you sure were in the right place at the right time. Thanks for posting them for us all to see.
