The Dubois house by "Laser Art Structures"
Posted by: Ensign - 12-31-2018, 11:44 AM - Forum: HO Modeling - Replies (6)

Hi everyone, I thought I would share with you my latest structure that I have completed.
It's called the Dubois house kit #600 by "Laser Art Structures" by Branchline Trains.
I also used their Cadillac garage kit # 631 as a matching garage for this stately looking home.
The cupola on top of the garage was added as an extra.
I made up this winter scene right on my workbench, for fun & for a Christmas greeting.

Here is a photo that I took of the 2 structures outside.

And here an overview of these 2 structures taken in natural light.

A very Happy 2019 to everyone!

Greg

  Hey guys
Posted by: Espee - 12-30-2018, 04:29 PM - Forum: Get To Know Us - Replies (4)

Hi everyone

Thought I'd come join in the fun on the forum. My name's Simon I'm a professional modelmaker & I've been building brass locomotives in 0 scale for many years.

I'm from over the pond in Yorkshire, England & after many years modelling UK prototypes I want to dip my toe in American 0 scale. I've always liked American diesels especially the Southern Pacific & more recently Norfolk Southern.

My plan is to make a small switching layout with a 20 year time frame so I can run most models. I've currently got some freight cars by Weaver & Atlas & some diesels from Overland, Weaver & Atlas.

Hopefully I can show some of my work this next year & learn some new things in the process.

Cheers

Si

Sad For What Its Worth
Posted by: Brakie - 12-29-2018, 07:45 AM - Forum: Brakie - Replies (5)

As a update I may not be as active as I once was because the good doctors decided I couldn't take care of myself seeing I was in the hospital for congestive heart failure in less then a months time. Icon_e_surprised   Needless to say my health has improved since there is no easy to grab goodies or cans of diet Coke. Goldth

As of now I'm stuck in a nursing home that has no hobby area but, that should change as I will be transferring to another home with a hobby area so,my plans is to build 1' X 6' N Scale ISL. 2285_  I plan on modeling the late 50s or perhaps the 60s.

!! Fabulous MRR Optical Illusion !!
Posted by: MarkinLA - 12-14-2018, 09:55 PM - Forum: Scenery details - Replies (2)

Hi. I just had to tell you guys and gals about a wild optical illusion you can see, too, right way.
Go to YouTube, MSNBC for today, 12/14/18, and find "Meet The Press" with Chuck Todd. Check out 12:38 - 13:43 !
Tell me it doesn't look like Barbara MCQuaid is standing in the middle of a greatly scenic-ed HO, O, or G scale MRR !!!
To our left it looks like a 1"x 4" bench stringer touching her right shoulder and at our right some sort of white painted horizontal industrial slab or roof.
Though all the structures are 1:1 scale in the background (her home city, I guess), they look like scaled down, large, shallow-relief buildings; sort of a George Selios-like, layout. Really a rare or never scene before model railroad optical illusion, isn't it !?.....I hope you too get a kick out of this as I did, while watching a news show..Let me know if it does the same thing for you... It's only my particular neurosis that causes things like this....Misngth.

To moderators: I do think you'll agree that I'm not at all bringing up politics. Nothing Ms McQuaid is saying has any value in this OP. In fact, turning off the sound and closed captioning would be ideal..It's only for the odd, trick, visual-scenic relationship it has with our hobby that I'm citing.
Mark, So.Pas.,Ca.
